Place Your AD Everywhere
2014

Place Your AD Everywhere examines micro and macro topographies co-opted by the intrusive, spectacular quality of modern-day advertising. Contemporary advertising practice and theory value the physical and social landscape as a textual commodity above all else.

The pictures come from different distances and different worlds, and they do not tell you where you are standing: banners towed by airplanes across the sky over the Indy 500, branding that interrupts the camera on Google Street View, logos read from above on Google Earth, wrappers and packs found on foot. Lived and virtual views, the satellite and the sidewalk, sit side by side. The spectacle holds at every scale: a macro and micro advertising landscape, where the land itself is read as a commodity.
