About
Paul Thulin-Jiménez is a photographer and book artist who lives and works in Richmond, Virginia. His work moves between documentary photography, artist books, writing, moving image and installation, and much of it is made in Puerto Rico and with his family's archives.
His monograph Pine Tree Ballads (Candela Books, 2019) is held by the Museum of Modern Art Library, the Library of Congress and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. His artist books Isla de Las Palmas and Isla de Las Palmas: 100 Yrs are held by Centro at Hunter College, the Museum of Modern Art Library and Princeton University Library Special Collections. He is an associate professor in the Department of Photography and Film at Virginia Commonwealth University.
