Landscape photography was built on the commanding view. X refuses it. Made close and with flash in the overgrown river landscapes of Virginia, the photographs collapse foreground and background into one density. Cody-Rose Clevidence’s poem By Gaze, in silver ink, crosses them as kin rather than caption.
